Fireworks, flags, 'Merica. It's a celebration, y'all!

I hope all of you had a happy and safe 4th of July!

Mine was pretty uneventful, there was a little tequila, watching of Pawn Stars, and eating involved. I had exciting plans to go to New Orleans, but my car was acting crazy and--because it was 4th of July--everywhere I could possibly get it checked out was closed.

Bummer.

Nonetheless, I had a really good time and enjoyed celebrating 'Merica.

In keeping with the whole 4th of July, red, white, and blue thing, I wore this to work today:
Red, white, and bluebirds! Dress from Langford Market, annoying photobomb bra from Reebok
Excuse my non makeup-ed face. I'd apologize, but since I haven't put on make up in what feels like 10198736810 years, I'm not really that sorry.

I'm even MORE excited about the pig roast hosted by these sweet people this weekend in Lafayette!
Lindsey and Ben: pig roasters extraordinaires
and spend time with the new Mr. and Mrs. Jones
Don't even try to tell me this isn't the cutest picture ever. Plus, April's butt looks awesome. All those lunges paid OFF!
So I guess we'll be continuing the 'Merica celebration into the weekend!

And before we all forget why we're thankful for July 4th besides the BBQs and time with family and friends, we're thankful for everyday that we get a chance to celebrate our freedom in this wonderful country we call home. We are thankful for the rights we claim as ours and our opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We are thankful for every individual that continues the fight toward keeping our country free everyday on behalf of all that lives here.

What are your plans for the weekend?
