First day back at the box post-back injury and this is what I hear: "We are no longer working out. We are in training." Oh. Welcome back, Ace. So this training thing. Basically, if you're into the crossfit world, you know that the CrossFit Open is in roughly 3 months-85 days, to be exact. If you're not into the CrossFit world (yet), here's a rough run down of how things happen: Crossfit begins "CrossFit Open" WOD. Anyone is able to participate in the Open. You must be watched by a certified judge as you WOD. Post your results online and verified by judge. Top competitors advance to compete at the regional competition. The top 60 competitors from regionals get to go to the CrossFit Games--you know, the one that's televised so that all of us can drool over Rich Froning and everyone else, oh and so we can see who will be crowned "fittest on earth" And I am apparently training for this. I love that my coaches have so much confidence in me. I also think they are kind of crazy. :) SO! First day back at the box with a pretty healthy back and this was the WOD: 3 Rounds For Time (RFT) 10 Push Press (65#) 10 SDLHP (65#) 10 Box jumps (24") 8:43 RX 2 minute break 2RFT
10 Push Press (65#)
10 SDLHP (65#)
10 Box jumps (24")
7:56 RX
1 minute break
1RFT
10 Push Press (75#)
10 SDLHP (75#)
10 Box jumps (24")
3:16 (65#)
Total Work Time: 19:15
Thankfully, my back didn't hurt during or after the WOD. Just a regular soreness.
and since we're in training, I guess I'm gonna have to seriously get on my job in the box AND with this eating thing. Maybe I should start my own Paleo challenge. Anyone wanna join in? No? Oh.
Let y'all know how this training is making me feel tomorrow. (yay!)
